How do I join in discussions about life in Switzerland on www.shootingthecheese.ch ?

I have seen some interesting discussions and I want to join in. On the www.shootingthecheese.ch site there are a number of events scheduled, but I am not how to respond. Can anyone explain ? Thanks in advance.

When you get to the home page (at http://www.shootingthecheese.ch/) you will notice the header “Welcome to the Shooting The Cheese Forums!”

Under this, there is a message, in which there is the phrase “…come and join our community today!”. By clicking on this you are led to the sign-up page, which can be found here: http://www.shootingthecheese.ch/register.php
