What are some of the schools in California that offer BS in Game Development?
I am in a junior college at the moment but i dont know what classes should i take to major in game development ( video game, MMO…) can anyone give me some advice? Thx alots
Don’t do it. You can easily get a job in the Video Game industry with a BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, but a Game Development degree is really only going to be valuable in that one industry.
Just go to a decent University, and take a couple of classes in the “interactive Media” department on your way to getting the general CS degree.
John Carmack (you know who he is, right?) said:
“Game programs have been somewhat useful for finding employees, but we don’t actually think that the students are learning particularly valuable skills in the programs.
A CS or EE degree will almost certainly serve you better throughout your life than a game/media degree…”
